Chartered Accountants Annual Dinner

Chartered accountants from across the south of England flocked to Southampton recently to hear Alastair Campbell speak at the SOSCA Annual Dinner.

For those ICAEW members living or working in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Dorset and Wiltshire, this was the calendar event of the year and a great opportunity for celebration, networking and entertainment.

Alastair Campbell provided an entertaining and insightful speech recollecting tales from his days as Tony Blair’s former Chief Press Secretary and more recent experiences from his time managing press relations for the British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand in 2005.

The event was sponsored by specialist recruitment consultancy Barclay Meade, based in Whitleley, Hampshire, which offers a specialism in accountancy recruitment, providing an expert, tailored approach within the Public Practice and Commerce & Industry Market.

Matthew Horne, Public Practice Operations Manager, says: “As our head office is based in the area and with a specialism in the field of accountancy, it was great to be involved in the evening and get the opportunity to meet with so many influential individuals from within the sector.

“As a result of these encounters, we hope to forge strong relationships with some of the leading figures from the industry across the south of England. Ultimately we believe we can support accountancy firms through delivering the best talent and aid professionals by providing the most rewarding job opportunities.”
