Introduction: Supply Chain Inventory & Planning Manager required to join a FMCG / Retail organisation to be based in London / Surrey / Middlesex
The Job:
The role of Inventory Planning manager joins the Supply Chain team of a growing business who are recruiting to increase head count to support continued sales growth. Based in London on the Surrey / Middlesex borders you will be responsible for working across the end to end European supply chain from suppliers and manufacturers to end customers. This is a very senior level role that will suit someone at the Director or Head of Supply Chain Level and you will in essence work as a consultant with highly regarded FMCG organisations
The Supply Chain team are responsible for the seamless supply of products across the globe and the primary responsibility of the Inventory and Planning manager is to deliver and maintain excellent customer service by maximising product availability and OTIF delivery of FMCG and consumer durable products to major retailers.
Key responsibilities include:
Minimise inventory and stock levels whilst ensuring no stock outs occur
End to End supply chain management
Interact directly with global suppliers and customers
Work with internal stakeholders across Logistics, finance, procurement, sales and marketing teams both domestically, regionally and globally
Identify new suppliers and manufacturing partners
Eliminate and reduce obsolete product lines
Maximise the speed of logistics flows resulting in stock arriving at customers in a rapid time frame and reducing stock holding in group controlled warehouses and distribution centres
Manage reverse logistics flows and ensure that products are returned to suppliers or back to customers
Who are looking for
You will have a proven track record of supply chain management across a complex, multi country operation
Possessing detailed understanding of international logistics and supply chain management you will have a demonstrable history of managing an end to end supply chain
You will be working at a senior level likely to be Director or Head of Supply Chain
An expert at managing inventory and stock levels located in multiple sites
Have a demonstrable history of working directly with globally located manufacturers and suppliers
It is highly likely that you will have worked in the FMCG, consumer durables or retail industry sectors
Possess excellent analytical skills and be able to run and manage complex projects
Be able to travel across the globe on a regular basis
Be educated to degree level and in addition ideally hold formal industry specific qualifications
Highly numerate and articulate you will be able to work with a range of stakeholders from factory floors to the board across a range of differing cultures
