Planning Manager - Defence (6 month contract)

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Planning Manager to join our team on a 6 month contract basis, working within the defence sector. As the Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the supply chain and planning activities for our defence projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of supply chain activities, ensuring effective coordination and timely delivery of materials and resources.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize supply chain processes and meet project objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and ongoing vendor performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the planning team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role as a Supply Chain Manager or Planning Manager within the defence industry.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in the use of supply chain management software.
  • Understanding of relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Proactive and results-driven mindset.
