Introduction:

I am currently recruiting for a logistics co-ordinator for a FTSE 25 organisation. The succesful candidate must have attention to detail, experience with excel and SAP and also experience in creating purchase orders.

The Job:

Purpose of role:
• To coordinate the daily activities with logistics service providers with regards to primary distribution, S & H and secondary transportation to ensure safe, cost effective and high quality services targeting the maximisation of the customers satisfaction.
• To supervise logistics providers performance over time and apply corrective actions to meet the targets.
• Ensure that logistics providers comply with the clients policies.

Accountabilites:
o Analyse costs trends.
o Identify sources of deviation
o Propose improvement actions to Distribution/Logistics Mgr.
• Follow up customers’ queries and complaints.o Provide relevant logistics information in case of queries (delivery status, costs, lead times, etc.).
• Support Distribution/Logistics Manager in issuing and maintaining procedures and working instructions to support OMS.
• Support Distribution/Logistics Manager in auditing activities as required.
• Review and validate within the the clients system all stock movements and periodically review and align inventory records between the client and logistics contractors.
o Manage daily stock reconciliation with logistics contractors
o Coordinate periodical physical stock counts.
o Instruct logistics contractors to operate internal movements (quarantine, decanting, etc.)
o Process required movements in SAP.
• Maintain freight costing data in SAP in order to ensure a correct estimation of logistics providers invoices
o Maintain scales and rates in line with suppliers’ contracts.
o Update shipment costs data for special services.
o Manage self billing process to ensure effective invoice matching
o Coordinate with Finance month end accruals.
• Monitor the correct functioning of automatic interfaces with logistics contractors.
• Coordinate transportation and S & H daily operations taking into account capacity constraints and business priorities.
o Monitoring logistics suppliers’ orders / shipments execution.
o Coordinate inbound and outbound requirements between S&H and transportation providers.
o Call off spot vehicles (e.g. peak of demand, special requirements, etc.)
o Coordinate with GBS/CSC business priorities.
