Head of Product (Savings)

Areas of responsibility:
o Product design – the ongoing development and refinement of the bank’s deposit product portfolio to anticipate/respond to customer/market demand, industry trends, and regulatory change
o Pricing strategy - development and implementation of pricing strategies for new/existing products/customers to achieve target volumes returns
o Product performance – manage the performance of products, tracking and responding to performance trends. Maintain existing and establish new management information/product performance analytics to support this process
o Treasury funding liaison – work closely with Treasury to define and agree funding targets and associated product requirements/volumes, deploying products to meet these
o Product operational performance – maintain regular tracking of product performance relative to other market players, developing initiatives where appropriate to respond to this. Work closely with Operations Leader to identify likely impact of different product initiatives on customer services through third party provider
o Product forecasting/capacity planning – develop and maintain product forecasting and planning tools and analysis, that will enable both the bank and the third party operations partner to establish and maintain satisfactory levels of customer service
o 3rd party supplier interaction – in addition to the third party operations partner, work alongside Marketing in developing/maintaining relationships with branding/PR/advertising partners
o Compliance of Products, and related Ts & Cs – ensure that at all times, with the support of Compliance and Legal functions, that the bank’s deposit taking products meet all regulatory standards, and product development and approval processes include the relevant sign-offs

o Compliance – ensure that all Product activities meet both company and external regulatory standards
o Business Planning – undertake planning/forecasting activity that allows the bank to resource plan in order to maintain appropriate customer service levels

Extensive market knowledge
Insight to customer needs and the business segment in which they operate, the structure of the financial services industry (key players, products and operations).
Advanced understanding of Business strategy and model
Has a deep understanding of the firm’s model and position in relation to its peers, key sources of revenue and the impact of external factors on the business strategy and model. Identifies, monitors and manages, the key risks and vulnerabilities relating to the firm’s business strategy and model.

?? Extensive experience of leading a product function in a retail financial services environment
?? Expertise in broad range of product disciplines – product development, performance analytics, pricing and funding strategies, forecasting and planning, compliance, sales strategy planing
?? In-depth knowledge of financial products
?? The suitable candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the need to balance commercial and regulatory risk
?? The role holder will have a proven track record in working within a project team.
