The Business Support Manager will be principally responsible for managing the information flow between prospective new customers and internal departments. The role will involve engagement with new customers to present the services offered by the company, establish the deliverables of new projects and present these to the relevant internal teams. The post holder will further be involved in the coordination and management of proposal generation and presentation of these back to the customer. For successful proposals, the post holder will actively assist in the transition of the opportunity from the Business Development team to the relevant internal project management function. Additionally the post holder may be required to manage nominated accounts where multiple projects are ongoing with the internal project management teams’ support.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the management and development of business relationships with prospective customers via proactive contribution to on site and off site customer visits, customer presentations and meetings.
Analyse and critically appraise all new enquiries to identify those opportunities of best match to the business objectives and present these opportunities to management.
Engaging with the relevant internal departments, coordinate and ensure the compilation of all RFI’s, RFP’s and project proposals in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and appropriate records for all enquiries received.
Provide customers and prospective customers regular updates on the status of enquiries and proposals.
Ensure each customer is handled in an efficient and professional manner.
Conduct client feedback and satisfaction surveys and actively contribute to promotion of business relationships with all customers.
Monitor the mix of committed projects and also new project opportunities to ensure it complies with business objectives.
Assist in the forecasting of capacity and keep the Business Development team abreast of capacity utilisation across service areas.
Assist in the transition and handover of new business to internal teams upon approval of proposals.
Assist the Business Development team by participating at exhibitions and conferences as necessary and also identifying opportunities which may increase the profile of our client.
Report to management as requested on the activities of the department.
Undertake additional duties or specific projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
*Degree (or equivalent) in a Life Science related discipline
*Previous experience of client management in a Pharmaceutical working environment
*Previous experience of costing and proposal generation
