Introduction:

UK's leading engineering support services company are looking for a Bid Manager to manage and organising bid and marketing resources in order to deliver upon inorganic revenue targets.

The Job:

Ultimately in association with the Business Development Managers turn sales opportunities into winning robust propositions. Specifically to:

Bids

• Providing clear leadership, motivation and management to the performance and continued professional development of the bid & marketing team.
• Assessing the bid resources required to support growth strategy depending on complexity and their availability.
• Reviewing and monitoring progress of bids being delivered by other functional roles, resolving issues and problems.
• Lead, Manage or support the production of bids and proposals, including production of costed bid plan and bid schedules in accordance in compliance with Babcock IMS’s bid governance and assurance processes
• Identifying the skills and capabilities required to submit the bid and subsequently fulfil the contract,
• Arranging independent bid reviews if required.
• Recording, analysing and managing issues, risks, changes and dependencies during the bid.
• Train/Mentor Babcock IMS staff, outside of Business Development, in bid management processes in order to enhance the company’s ability to produce winning bids.
Marketing
• Manage specialist marketing resource to deliver marketing collateral, promotion and events in support of the IMS Marketing Communications Strategy
• Oversee the production of marketing collateral and activities
• Be responsible for marketing activities related to specific campaigns and bids.

• Bid & Capture Management
• Proposal Management
• Project Management experience or training desirable
• Campaign Management (marketing communications to support specific bid opportunities)
• Ability to motivate multi disciplinary teams.

• Apply a positive ‘business winning’ ethos to the execution of bid programmes
• Able to display thought Leadership in the execution of capture and bid campaigns
• Display the flexibility and agility in working across different domains i.e. business development, bids and marketing as well as different technical domains

• Experience of plus in bid/business development environment with a track record of managing the successful delivery of important bids through to contract award.
• Broad appreciation of operational, technical, commercial and financial dimensions of bid programmes.
• Experience of the defence/critical engineering services sector desirable
• Desirable experience in marketing/campaign management either as part of a corporate marketing function or in support of major bidding activities.

• Educated to HND/degree level or equivalent
• Further business, professional or technical qualifications desirable but not essential.
• APMP Accreditation at Foundation Level or above desirable
• CIM Qualifications/Awareness desirable.
