This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Business Development Manager to be part of a growing UK Defence Business.
The Business Development Manager is to be the single point of contact having close liaison with the client. The Business Development Manager will provide an interface with the client, predominantly developing new business, but also handling contract maintenance.
• Relationship Management - Develop and maintain the customer relationship network at intermediate level and senior levels.
• Account Planning - Develop a marketing and commercial plan for service/Account combinations
o Gather Account data on business and IT subjects, Prepare opportunity cases, Forecast sales and control sales costs.
• Account Development - Generate sales leads, Provide input to the Sales Lead in defining the value proposition to the client, Qualify sales leads ensuring agreement with the parties involved, Manage the development of proposals submitted to, and contacts with the Account, Identify and estimate staff for predicted competencies for the opportunities in co-operation with the Delivery Manager, Provide input to “Service Line Management” on service creation and pricing.
• Contract Negotiations and closing - Carry out the bid pricing process in co-operation with the Bid Team
Prepare and negotiate contracts, Close contracts after approval of the Sales Lead, Contribute to invoicing and accounts receivable by consulting the Delivery Manager
• Execution of the Account Plan - Ensure execution of the Account Plan, Monitor revenue targets and service portfolio targets
Qualifications & Experience...
*Significant and demonstrable experience of successful new business sales into MOD.
*Experience of selling systems or solutions within defence.
*Detailed knowledge of UK Defence market and main MOD sites.
*Can 'close' sales, and confident carrying a £5m sales target.
